NJ Travel Town; Asbury Park
It is no secret that I absolutely love the Jersey Shore. I was born near by and spent many summers visiting the beaches, hitting up the boardwalks, and grabbing drinks at the local bars. There is something for everyone from children to adults in many of the shore towns.
Asbury Park, a seaside community is filled with history dating back to the late 1800's. If you've ever been to Asbury, you know the vibrant community is filled everyone from artists to senior citizens.
When looking for a place to stay check out the newest property, The Asbury Hotel. Check out there Instagram as well! You can check in and grab a sandwich on the go at the same time or pop into their beer garden outside the pool area. I am planning a stay-cation in the next few months and looking forward to staying there!
Just one block from the boardwalk and beach you are in for a treat. While it's winter here right now the weather was 60 out so I took advantage of the morning and did some exploring. Check out these shots from my morning down the shore!
The Wonder Bar, a quirky bar is home to live music and a dog friendly patio for Yappy Hour!
Be sure to stop by The Stone Pony Box office if you want tickets to any of the shows for either venue.
Don't get used to empty parking spaces because in a few weeks you will be circling the block looking for a space. It wasn't even that quiet today as there were joggers, walkers, families, and others all out and about enjoying the scenery!
Grab a cup of coffee from Asbury Park Roastery in the Grand Arcade of the Convention Hall before checking out the rest of the shops or parking yourself on a bench on the boardwalk.
After walking around the Convention Hall check out Sea Change. There are so many great walls covered in beautiful art!
Here are some of my favorite walls.
Have you worked up an appetite yet? Maybe you're looking for a nice drink? Here are some great places to visit. Some of my favorites are:
Home of vacation-inspired cuisine, Langosta Lounge is right on the boardwalk! One of my all time favorite dishes is the Lobster Carbonara Pizza.
For a more laid back feel, head across the street to Porta for picnic-style seating. Be sure to order the Pan-Roasted Day Boat Octopus.
Free Pizza, All Day, Every Day from Johnny Macs.
Cookman Ave, is home to many other great establishments such as; The Asbury Ale House, Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten, Taka Restaurant, and The Bonney Read.
If you want the perfect escape to a great beach town, I highly recommend checking out Asbury Park!
What is your favorite beach town?

Wow, love all that beautiful street art! I'd have to say my favorite beach town is San Diego (I grew up on the west coast though so I'm partial to Pacific beaches). :)
ReplyDeleteI hope to one day make it out to San Diego! I've heard so many wonderful things about the beaches on the West Coast!
