Brunch Bites: Brownstone Pancake Factory
I'm not the biggest fan of waiting in line for hours for food; however if you are up for the wait, I would highly recommend you valet your car and add your name to the wait list at Brownstone Pancake Factory in Edgewater, New Jersey. A side note, it is actually mandatory to valet your car, and it is free. You can wait up to three hours on the weekend for a table, and while you wait, be ready to drool over every item coming out of the kitchen.
Over-the-top milkshakes, crazy out of the box French Toast/Waffles, and even Pancake Wrappers are just a few of the mouth-watering items on the menu. Tip: Come on an empty stomach and don't let your eyes order over what your mouth can handle.
A few weeks back my sister and I decided to spend the day together and we started with brunch on a random Tuesday, therefore we had no wait. Seated right away, I started snapping photos of the exterior as is has some unique features such as the fan below.
Our booth was directly across from the open kitchen, and as we reviewed the menu we watched each dish come out looking better every time. The goal was to split an order, order something and then share a milkshake at the end. Our eyes were definitely bigger then our mouths, however we made sure the spread out the meal which was our Breakfast/Lunch. We would much later in the evening have a small dinner.
Growing up our dad would always make Challah French Toast; however nothing like the Nutella Peanut Butter Crispy French Toast. The citrus from the berries, with the sweet from the Nutella and peanut butter were the perfect combination making this one yummy dish. We each had one slice and that was more than enough for each person.
We never even used the Real Maple Syrup with everything that was already on top of the French Toast, however if you have plain pancakes or waffles I would suggest it.
Next up we ordered our "lunch" or large portions of our next meal. Slow and steady I kept reminding myself. We had the whole day and were in no rush to get home.
French Onion Grilled Cheese, anyone? Challah French Toast smothered with Gruyere cheese and caramelized onions with the perfect onion broth for dipping was right up my sisters alley. She loves French Onion Soup, making this dish a no-brainer.
Everything about this burger is supreme, so no wonder it is called the Brownstone Supreme Burger. Medium burger topped with Avocado, Bacon & Onion Rings, how can you even go wrong? I was only able to each half, but made sure to finish the Bacon, Avocado and Onion Rings. The fries were crispy and I was able to share the onion broth dip from my sister!
We finished our sister's brunch with this over-the-top, chocolate crazed, Oreo Cookie Cake milkshake. What's better then a milkshake with a piece of cake, Oreos, and plenty of chocolate syrup?
If you ever find yourself in New Jersey or New York City be sure to take a trip over to Brownstone Pancake Factory. Don't be jealous when browsing their Instagram.
Have you ever had one of these crazy milkshakes? If so, where?
XoXo,
Tracy
