Restaurant Recommendations From NYC Wine & Food Festival
Last month I attended the Farmer's Market Brunch hosted by Geoffrey Zakarian at The Standard High Line, Biergarten & Garden Rooms. This is actually the second time I attended this event which is part of the New York City Wine & Food Festival. You can see more about the first time here. Both times myself and AJ (my sister's fiancé) found one or two places we would love to actually visit in person. Small samples are delicious and all, but imagine a full meal from the restaurant.
Here a few of the vendors that we saw and a few places I look forward to visiting soon. We happen to be 2nd in line, so on the first go around, we really got to speak with some of the chef's which was really cool and interesting.
Goosefeather
Chef Dale Talde
Located in The King Mansion at the Tarrytown House Estate, this is a must visit if you are in New York and looking for something special outside the city limits. Taking the traditional Cantonese dishes up a notch, Chef Dale creates out of the box dishes.
At brunch we sampled Sticky Rice w/Fratelli Beretta Pancetta and it was so good I had three samples.
The Schulson Collective
Mike Schulson
The Smoked Whitefish Toast we sampled made me realize how much I miss fresh whitefish. I look forward to trying the restaurants in Philadelphia under his profile.
High Street on Hudson
Melissa Weller
The High Street Bodega, a sage black pepper biscuit, with Violet Hill sausage, farm egg, aged cheddar and spicy mayo would be the perfect breakfast sandwich. With each bite you tasted every element of the sandwich.
Have you ever attended a Food Festival and then go to the restaurant? Which one, share in the comments.

Tracy
