Weekend Write Up
Talk about a wonderful weekend. That was this weekend for me. How was your weekend? Do anything fun?
Friday I met a friend in the city for dinner at Mustang Harry's before heading to Brooklyn to see the Soul2Soul Faith Hill & Tim McGraw concert at Barclay's Center. It was my first time at Barclay's and navigating from the city via the subway was the easiest thing, if you ever need to get there and don't feel like driving in.
Mustang Harry's is located a block south of Penn Station and seven blocks south of Port Authority which made getting there super easy and the perfect meeting point since we were taking the 2/3 from Penn Station to Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn. I grabbed two seats at the bar, ordered a beer off happy hour and waited to for my friend! Once we decided to sit at the bar for dinner we started with the most delicious Pomegranate Lamb Lollipops and Chips & Quac.
For dinner I went with the Harry's Bacon Blue Burger, which I unfortunately didn't get a picture of. The burger was cooked perfectly with the right amount of crisp to the bacon and the blue cheese crumble melted with each bite!
Once we got to Barclay's we waited on a quick line as doors were about to open once we arrived. After picking up our tickets we were escorted upstairs to our suite. Talk about a suite life! The arena was far from being filled, which surprised us a little. Once the opening act finished the it was time for Faith & Tim to perform you could tell the arena was a more crowded. I guess in Brooklyn they show up for the main act!
They opened together, and performed some songs together before Faith doing a small solo act followed by Tim doing a small solo performance. Once each solo was done, they closed out the show together and they had the entire audience on their feet. Together they talked about working, living, and touring together, how they make family time and how we all need to love and support one another.
Performing "Like We Never Loved At All" and "This Kiss" brought back so many memories. I absolutely loved the concert and recommend if you ever get a chance to see them perform, you take it!
Saturday I slept in after getting home pretty late, took the car for inspection and rested up for a Halloween party I was attending that night. First, we watched the PSUvsOSU game...and let me say, what a game it was.
I found this costume online and figured it would be inexpensive and the perfect "pun" for the evening as I was going to be around plenty of teachers who use them in their classes! Jeffrey Dahmer has nothing on me!
It was a great night filled with good food, flip cup, beer pong, and great friends! I am not huge into Halloween but was told I needed to up my costume after last years devil. I redeemed myself and had a blast.
Yesterday the Northeast was slammed with a "Noreaster" of heavy rains and wind. I took it as a sign to do a deep clean of my bathroom, bedroom and kitchen! I also recently purchased Oprah's new book, "The Wisdom of Sunday's" and let me tell you, it has been life-changing and I think everyone should read it. I am hoping to start listening to the podcast this week!
How was your weekend?
