Top 5 Favorite Places in New York City

I grew up an hour outside of New York City in a town in Central New Jersey. I would spend weekends in the city with my family visiting restaurants, museums, and other tourist attractions, yet it felt like we were locals. I remember my first Yankee Game and the subway ride and thinking I can't wait to one day live in the city. I did, in-fact live on the Upper East Side for 2 years. Now, I am back in New Jersey but work in the city and explore every chance I get.

Here are my five favorite places to visit in New York City! It was not easy to narrow this list down, but if I wrote everything we would be here for years. The concrete jungle is my favorite playground.

Grand Central Terminal is not just a transportation hub, but home to shopping, dining, and a cultural destination. Grand Central Market, is one of my favorite places to wander through after a long day. Grab a drink and people watch from the bar in the main concourse and you can't go wrong.

Chelsea Market, an urban indoor food market, shopping center and business building is located in Chelsea. Grab a bite, and then head straight to The Highline which is also another hidden gem in New York City. Here are some other great markets in New York City.

A day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art has a great rooftop overlooking Central Park another two iconic New York City places that you must visit.

What is one of your favorite places in New York City or your hometown?

  1. Wonderful places you mentioned. Classic but always great to see. I love the view from Brooklyn Bridge Park and stroll through East Village.

    1. I completely agree and the higher you go in the park the more green space you have! It's such a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the streets!
