When visiting Kingston, NY be sure to pick up an O+ Mural Map from the Visitor Center and take a self-guided tour of the 20+ Murals across Kingston.

In exchange for complimentary health care, artists from around the world gather in Kingston, NY for the O+ Festival to create large scale murals. How awesome is this nonprofit organization, that I recently learned about during my trip to Kingston. The three day event also features all sorts of art, music, and wellness festivities in different venues around the city. The cool thing is, that if you are unable to attend the festival, the murals are there year-round for your viewing!

An organization that commissions work from artists that marginalized and/or underrepresented is well worth checking out. Many of the murals reflect the history and culture of our diverse communities as well.

Kingston, NY located in Hudson Valley is a quick 2 hour drive from New York City and the perfect getaway for the weekend or a few days mid-week. I recommend the self-guided mural tour, checking out the local restaurants and breweries and getting in a hike or two while in town visiting. These are only a few of the 20+ Murals out there. Take the time to research and get to know the artists. Take in the meaning of the murals as well.

Now, share with me a cool place you found Murals or Street Art?

XoXo,

Tracy
